It was more satisfying seeing Tang San use some sort of new epic transformation, that we haven't gotten since the Soul Bone Fusion, to beat their pursuers at the time.
Ok...I think this is one of the best eps of the entire series--another example of the animators surpassing the novel with a concatenation of creative scenes and superb editing. I admit I'm a biased fan of the Sacrifice ep, but this week put it in the shade imo. Instead of another round of power-ups/training/challenges, this was a deep dive into TS's emotions (despite the sugary SanWu source), similar to Rong Rong and Oscar's memories on the stairs, which was another favorite. These are the kind of eps that enrich the series imo.
TS going berserker, Slaughter City style--using BSG the way it should be--was F'ing epic. TS's slow death at the hands of that Spirit Hall killing squad was savage and almost hard to watch, so seeing his Asura trigger get flipped was soooo viscerally satisfying. The novel actually had him using his 4th and 8th in this imaginary reenactment, but production's choice of BSG + fists was even more exciting imo. Tbh, I never thought anything could beat Yan getting friend-zoned by Hu Liena, but I was wrong 🤣. Talk about payback in spades.
Slaughter City theme @16:40 for the win.
Yeah, that improved BGM is certainly one of the highlights. I love the part where the male choral comes in (around 10:00). That was not in the original scene if my memory did not fail me.

That's what DD is about! TS going berserk = epic! 😁
BSG? You should seriously stop shortening everything, some people don't get it, like me...
Anyways, glad to see you back with these long comments though, but you sure was unsure about a lot of things considering how opinionated you kept saying these were, that's not a very good thing, imo.
But yeah, I got to admit, the animation and art was certainly feeling and looking significantly better here than previously😎
BSG = Blue Silver Grass
I'm not following--who did I ever accuse of being opinionated or what was I unsure/inconsistent about? My opinion regarding the Sacrifice has been pretty clear from the very beginning--I loved it. Confused..
omfg, brooo....have you not learned that online if you have an opinion your regarded as a bad person and youll get cancelled, ppl arnt allowed to have opinions anymore dont worry abt it, best thing to do is just keep it to your self, like i do
lol ikr, I find myself venting/opinionating
🤣on anime forums because if I did it on political ones, and the global zeitgeist/assault on free speech continues at present rates, I'd be ferreted out and put in solitary. That's where we're headed but too many have short memories and no knowledge of history. Crazy trains have no brakes..
I'm not saying you accused someone, what I meant was that you didn't have to drop an "imo" nearly every time, it's all opinions here after all.
damn bro who hurt you? ur 1st comment was totally unnecessary
Next episode that sea master is gonna be feeling more than just fake illusions LMAO.
If you guys want to complain about "flashbacks" (technically it isnt, it is reusing assets to show "illusion") then you should COMPLAIN about every TIME the characters uses their skills, since it is ALWAYS THE SAME assets, sometimes different angles but it is always the SAME!!
Complain about that!! And while we are at it, why not complain about the intermission cutscene that 10 secs wasting time :P
No anime or donghua is perfect, there are periods where it is boring, there are periods where there is full of actions, but it doesnt matter since you are all part of the journey you can't expect everything to keep up to our expectations every episode, this is free donghua so enjoy it, I pay for mine through subscribing through tencent so I have a more legitimate claim to complain than some people :P lol
Personally, I enjoyed the episode not only visually but also emotionally as I was happy to see Tang san finally
I've watched anime for a long time now and this is the second time I've actually felt angry for a character in a story, the first time was when I was watching white album season 1
Oh totally, it is also a pity that Yan
new episode of btth is up on youtube if you want to watch it unsubbed.
Mhm, watched it on tencent's v.qq already, it was epic the last episode for the side story should be another epic one, but also sad with Yun Yun
agreed. Even though I dont understand chinese I always watch it 2-3 times. first the unsubbed version so I can enjoy the first screening and watch it without being distracted by the subs and then the 2nd and 3rd time to compare the subs of animexin's and izfanmade (anime live) because sometimes they have different translations for certain words.
I had a look at the manga again yesterday to see how different it is compared to what is happening. I still cant get over how amusing Hai Bodong looks in his snowman outfit.
lol
Pity gogoanime doesnt use kurina's sub, they are more accurate (and context) than the others I have seen
Pretty much
Xiao Yan thought that at night he would be able to get away
Yun Yun says that she is sorry (for what she did)
Yao Lao is trying to get rid of the marker, and tells Xiao Yan to hold on, but Xiao Yan says that if Yao Lao tries to remove it, it might reduce his spiritual qi which will mean he will fall asleep again, later he tries to remind Yao Lao and he didnt reply
One of the three elders was trying to incite Xiao Yan by tell him that they were involved in killing his family members and attempted kidnapping
Xiao Yan tells the seven coloured Heaven python to set up an ambush up ahead
Near the end of the episode the three elders was telling that Xiao Yan may be the last Xiao family member alive and they will send him to see them in hell
Xiao Yan calls them bastards (rotten egg) and starts a beast tide and uses the first level of three changes (which increases his strength by a lot)
lol, I kinda got most of that already even without understanding what they were saying :P
In regard to Kurina's version of subs I forgot why I stopped using them. Not sure if it was because they prioritized indo subs, the adverts or if it was because of a show I was watching previously and they stopped putting the episodes on their site. However, I will admit their subs are really good
That episode was kinda easy to watch, lot's of action few words lol
Yeah when a subbing group uses lower cases in specific name or certain pronouns/titles it is very iffy which is why I prefer Kurina
And in case other people wonder why do I even bother watching on gogoanime or other subbing sites, it is because I am used to English subtitles (I blame Hong Kong movies where they have English and Chinese subtitles) but mainly because sometimes I have trouble with Chinese idioms/adage (example if you translate "feeling under the weather" you dont say you are standing out in the rain but you are feeling unwell)
But I think we should move this to the Doupo Cangqiong page since it is hijacking Soul Land's thread lol, I expect the new episode for Doupo to be out in about 6 hours
Blaming Hong Kong movies where they have English and Chinese subtitles made me laugh because it reminded me of pirated movies in my country in the past as they were mostly cam versions. However, I have always watched Chinese martial arts movies because its the birth place of martial arts. While most westerners were getting excited over Chuck Norris, I was fanboying over actors like Chow Yun-Fat and Sammo Hung whom were not as well known to most westerners.
In regard to the use of this site, everyone has their own use for it, I personally use it mostly for Japanese anime and then the comments for the Chinese anime/donghua's. I don't bother reading most Japanese anime comments though since the sale of Crunchyroll as it seems we got a lot of their users move here and the comments have been blowing up to 300+.
lol I try not to go to Japanese anime pages, it is like going to a discord with over 150,000 members or whatever the max is, the screen flies and you cant read anything, besides most of the comments are the same, I prefer the donghua pages, much quieter and plus I like to promote donghua, not because of my background, but I feel donghua is getting to the stage where it is pretty solid, sure there are trashy 3D donghua that goes for anime as well since we do get trashy anime
While I am not trying to offend anime lovers, I would like to see a single anime that can compare with Doupo Cangqiong's Three Year Agreement 1st and 2nd episode fight scene, Naruto? One Piece? Kengan Ashura? Jojo? One Punch Man? :)
apart from Kengan Ashura, the rest of them made me vomit a little in my mouth as they are main stream animes to please the masses. They are the one type of anime I hate watching the most even though I admit I did watched a lot of naruto and bleach not to long after I first started watching anime. Then I got tired of Japanese anime and its regurgitated storylines appearing in multiple different animes that I switched to watching Chinese anime/donghua.
Shuumatsu no Walküre wasn't bad because it was something new especially the match of Zeus Vs Adam when zeus asked what his reason for fighting was and he responded "when protecting your children, do you need a reason?". That one liner wrecked me to the point my eyes teared up especially with the ost playing at the time.
In regard to the fight scene, the only anime I can think of that even comes close in regard to a similar storyline as in the reputation was tarnished and he went out to fight for his organization's reputation is called crying freeman. Not sure if it was done over 2 episodes as btth's three year agreement though. It's an old anime though so not many these days would have heard of it and probably only remember the really bad live action movie that was made after their release.
Ahh Crying Freeman, that was like the 90s anime, 6 episodes, they dont make animes like they used to, OEDA cyber city, Midnight eye Sengoku were classics
now you know why main stream anime's make me feel sick lol
I was thrown into the deep end in regard to what I was introduced to when I first started watching anime. Crying freeman, project a-ko, doomed megalopolis, cyber city oedo 808, battle angel alita, guyver, ad police, geno cyber, the heroic legend of arslan (original not remade version) and akira are just some of the ones I started with. Oh, I forgot to mention dominion tank police.... that one was pretty funny.
Classics, absolute classics
BTTH 12 English subbed is out on kurina now :)
watched it first on animexin a few hours ago since he/she rushes to try and be first in subbing. ty though ^^ Also, just checked izfanmade's site and his is up too.
wont be long til it is up on gogoanime lol
I wouldnt say that because the xmas holidays is over now and they have to go back to their real life stuff, so it should be up in 12-36 hours.
the worst part about this show is having to wait another week for the next one.
OH SON OF A BIT-
I'm irritated at that cliffhanger... It's been a while since we've had one, and I'm not too happy about it😠 It was annoying enough that this Sea Illusory Douluo used that moment for the illusion, but then again, it is indeed the most painful memory for Tang San and Xiao Wu, as well as for us... I even remember crying a bit during then😅
Anyways, thanks to that illusion, I saw what I wanted to from back then, which is Tang San kick the Spirit Hall's a$$😎 But yeah, great episode as per usual considering these battles are what we've been waiting for😤 The sneak peek at the end though, what did Qian Renxue mean by love hurts deeply?😮
The line is actually, "The word love/feelings, can really hurt one's body" so it could mean "love or feelings can really hurt you"
Like most sneak peaks it could be misleading and taken out of context, since we are still 40 chapters away
Warning big spoilers
Unless of course the donghua changed it around and moved her
Thanks so much for this, but this does mean I'm right so it wasn't that misleading after all.
Was misleading afterall lol, wasnt Qian Renxue that said that was
I love your spoilers! Though I doubt the production team will really animate that scene. It's a bit too graphic! LOL!! But I'm curious how they will portray her one-sided obsession since they have never alluded anything about her feelings for him. On the other hand, they already created many new scenes and side plots to balance the incoherence in the novel (e.g. the on-going confrontation between Martial Soul Hall & the two empires), perhaps they might still show it, albeit in a milder manner. 😆
That is the weird part, when I read the novel it was out of the blue, the author explained it
If I were the director I would start by
You should be a scriptwriter! I’m certain your works would definitely be better than most shoddy scripts out there especially in Chinese dramas. 😉
Yes, I’m one of the ardent fans of fanren. I felt bad for the producer because it’s not getting the recognition and popularity it deserves especially when you consider how much effort they put in for their motion capture animation with real actors behind the scene.
lol sadly I have another profession which keeps me busy
Bear in mind, a lot of donghua and dramas is based on novels and 80% of the novels in China (webnovels that is) are pretty bad, but it allows the "novelists" to be able to make some money, and if their works are good then they will earn a lot of money, so we get a lot of bad donghua and dramas mainly cause of bad novels, the standard of Chinese literature has sadly fallen, webnovels being the evidence here, and good writers are hard to come by nowadays (of course Chinese censorship plays a role as well, no good writer will write politically sensitive things, and by political it can cover almost anything the government wants)
Yes it is unfortunate about Fanren, this is also to do with the fact that Fanren isnt your standard novel, it is rich in storytelling, it is darker than most novels, and the pacing slower. Most fanboys likes to see harems, lot's of fighting, lot's of killings, OP main character, no character development (yes talking about Peerless Martial Spirit and similar) lot's of plot armour, and the old villian cliches "kneel down and say you are sorry and I will leave your corpse intact"
Kind of like anime fanboys (throwing shade here) refusing to watch donghua cause "cant stand the sound of Mandarin I prefer Japanese which I totally have no idea what it means without the help of subtitles" I am like huh? so much for enjoying a good story :)
Damn, this is one of my top three episodes of all time (ep155 is still my most fav). When I saw the preview last week, I thought it would be another soppy episode but the production team really nailed every moment. The flashback is delicately portrayed while the action is epically fleshed out.
TS looks like a demon from hell when he uses his DeathGod Domain. That two strands of white hair on each side looks devilishly bewitching. How I wish he would keep that hairstyle but from the preview for next week, it looks like it would only appear during his Asura transformation.
Yeah idk whether it's because I set my expectations low again or was overly guarded from a potential SanWu sugar shock, but this ep was a big surprise.
Looks like I got trolled by hair (again) LOL. For a minute there, until I saw the preview and realized the hair was an artifact of the illusion/history, I thought he was turning Sephiroth with the hair down again and turning silver😆💪🏻--I dig it. I'm getting itchy for 'those' transformations coming lol.
I'm back to reading all the Chinese wuxia novels again and they really love the "Sephiroth transformation". LOL!! Whenever one lost control during their cultivation, they would 1.) vomit blood 2.) hair changes colour (usually white/silver) 🤣
I think one of the reasons why this ep didn't make it to my No.1, is probably because of this "sanwu sugar" part though they really did keep it at the bare minimum this time. 😁
Agreed--if I were a SanWu fanboy (which I basically was up to and including the Sacrifiece) this ep would have rocked my world. The fact that I enjoyed it this much is a real testament to the production.
(And yeah ep155 is my fav as well. Every minute was an 'edge of my chair' experience. It was like Tang Hao's SH entrance...for the whole ep lol.)
Gonna change your profile picture to the silverhaired Tang San? :)
Don't tempt me. 😆
Actually...don't be surprised if next I show up as Medusa. I have a great one waiting in the wings lol.
Do it!! Do it!! lol you know you wanna look badass :P
lol then you will need to change your name as well
He messed up with wrong person to begin with.
I guess the sea Lance doulou is done. Idk how a lowlife as him became a totem in seagod island. Is Poseidon shameless?
Sea Lance was the previous one Mubai fought.
Yea my error
Although this was mostly flash back but dam that sacrifice episode was so epic that I enjoyed every bit of it in this episode. Especially the voice acting of tang san when he said " No one can hurt XiaoWu even if its an illusion".
